SURVEY ON REMOVAL OF THE MASK RULING

| SURVEY ON REMOVAL OF THE MASK RULING | As of September 7, 2022 (Wednesday), face masks in most inland areas of Malaysia will no longer be mandatory. From May 1, 2022, the use of masks is mandatory only indoors and on public transport, including the eHailing service. 1) A person is positive for COVID19 and must visit a COVID19 Assessment Center (CAC) for a health check;
2) In public transport services such as buses, trains, taxis, including courier services, airplanes and buses, staff vans and school vans, and
3) In care facilities health such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, hemodialysis centers, etc.

The Department of Health also encourages the use of masks in the following cases:

1) In crowded areas such as night markets, stadiums, shopping centers and places of worship;
2) When people have symptoms such as fever, cough and cold;
3) People at high risk, such as the elderly, people with chronic diseases, people with low immunity, and pregnant women, and
4) When participating in activities with high-risk people such as people old and children.
